Default How do you guys do it?

How are you guys getting in like 20-30 grams of fiber daily? I am on a low carb ordeal and I am finding it hard. Broccoli is making me sick I have been living off of it for the past 3 months. I was also looking into spinach, but I would have to have 20 cups of it daily . I would get a lot of it when I was eating like whole wheat pasta and stuff but I have to get veggies in me mostly which makes me sad. Carb up days I have no problems usually. I was looking into Benefiber supplements but each serving is like 4 grams of carbs, I would need like 4 or 5 servings I can't go that high with everything else I am eating.

Yea If I wasn't on Low carb I would be eating nothing but whole wheats , oats and split peas, but I can't because a Cup of beans or peas and I'm just about at my limit of carbs. Sucks....Is there any like supplement out there that will work or something? Or some veggie I don't know about ?

Everyone.........dalcowbag has offered up the obvious solution. Any others?

I would rather try to get it from real food as opposed to a supplement with no nutrient value. I came to ask if there was some vegetable I can add in before I go that route.

lmao.

Fiber has no 'nutritional value' by extension KT.

It's role in digestive health, insulin sensitivty etc. is invaluable however.

So that's pretty lame.

Fiber supplements are created to supplement an inadequacy.

You're low-carb dieting i'd guess.. thus when you've met your quota of carb, but failed to meet your required fiber intake the logical way to do so would be to add a fiber supplement

Learn to read food labels KT.. it'll make everything easier for you.

Supplement Facts
Benefiber Powder

Serving Size: 1tbsp (4g)

Calories 20
Total Carbohydrates 4g
Dietary Fiber 3g (of which)
Soluble Fiber 3g +

It is OBVIOUS that the kcal count is incorrect.

As fiber has no useable kcals.. as it is indigestible.

Thus:

Gross carb total = 4gr
Fiber total = 3 gr
Net carb = 1 gr

1 gr = 4 kcals.

So 4-5 servings of the fiber supp. per day will only yield you an extra 4-5 grams of carbs.. in total.

It isn't even likely that, with the accompanying fiber the 1 gr of carb per serving will be useable.. as the sole ingredient is after all partially hydrolyzed guar gum.

How hard could it be to work this into your diet?

c'mon mate.

Low carb/High fiber tortillas. They still taste good, and some have 11-20g fiber each w/ as little as 3 net carbs.

Buy that and a bag of frozen Tyson fajita style chicken strips and a little of whatever else you like in your fajitas (peppers, onions, carb free stuff) and eat up KT.

So you mean to tell me something like broccoli has no nutrients or anything of that sort? Only just straight fiber?

No, he is saying fiber has no nutritional value not broccoli. Broccoli has many vitamins and nutrients in it. Link below of the breakdown on macronutrients, micronutrients, and phytonutrients. Although you probably get more than enough out of a mega vitamin.

How hard could it be to work this into your diet?

c'mon mate.

See, I did not know that Dietary Fiber was not included in net carb counts. Learn some new shit every day.

I thought the nutritional labels factored in Dietary Fiber as a carbohydrate?

Dietary fiber is listed as a carbohydrate... because it IS a carbohydrate.

..an indigestible carbohydrate
