I suck off the SEC
|
Right now I am getting to the gym around 9pm and doing cardio for 45 min daily... I am wondering what the benefits are, if any to night time cardio.
I have a protein shake when I get home and then try to get to sleep. Do you think my body will burn more fat while sleeping this way? |

I am no pro , but I don't think there will be any benefit really. I'm sure you know, keep it low intensity so you don't have to have a pro/carb shake this late before you go to bed.

Cardio is accumulative...........just doing it in the morning is better because you're empty when you exercise. Proper planning of your meals is your only obstical other then that enjoy.
When I'm really serious about dropping the pounds I do cardio morning and night.

Best time to do cardio for fat burning is first thing in the morning.
Second best time is after weight training because you have depleted your glycogen stores, so your body is more likely to have to start to utilize fat for fuel. (you didn't say whether you are weight training at night before your cardio or not). But as Juggernaut said cardio is accumulative so any cardio is better than NO cardio when it comes to fat loss. |

My friend, as long as I know by night time, your body is ready to shut down and go to sleep. It's not in calorie-burning mode because it doesn't expect you to require energy. During the day, you can burn 3x as many calories compared to night time. Cardio is great anytime, but best during the day as with most excercise.

I am skeptical......sometimes I think the the difference of doing cardio fasted in the morning compared to other times is so minimal that it's not even worth it.
I know some people swear by it however. |
