Default Water, get used to it

rregardless if you are a creationist or believe in evolutionist theory it is easy to look back into time and see that we were not made for drinking things other than water. Until quite recently when we learned how to ferment grains and fruits into alcoholic beverages, milk cows, or squeeze fruits, we drank water and that is what our bodies are meant to drink. Granted there are a few exceptions like unsweetened tea that can be beneficial, but there is NOTHING that takes the place of water. Walk into any grocery store and it becomes obvious that we have tried our best to replace water with a wide variety of substitutes—and there are none.

The problem is most are either sweetened, which is diabetes and increases fat stores in a bottle, or artificially sweetened, which at least in America equals Aspartame. Most of you likely think Aspartame is harmless, but if you look at the proven health problems and consider how many lawsuits have been filed against it, you might think again. Industry experts agree that it will likely be pulled from the market within 5 years—it’s that bad.

Why don’t we drink water? Partly because most of it tastes like shit. Most has chemicals in it that are also problematic, but if you think you are overcoming that issue by drinking Pepsi you are fooling your yourself. Pure water tastes good and the fact is most people never drink pure water. There are some fairly good brands available that taste good, but if you want the most protection from contaminants you will drink reverse osmosis water only. It tastes good, and has FAR, FAR more contaminants removed than by any other method.

Trying to get around this by drinking “diet” drinks or worse yet sweetened drinks is just plain lack of discipline and ignorance. Milk, for those that are TRULY tolerant, which is the minority, or tea are the only good exceptions other than very low GI vegetable juice like V-8. Water is what we are made to drink, get some good water and get used to drinking it. Your health, performance and well-being are what is at stake using “good tasting” alternatives.

This explains why I'm addicted to Aquafina. Best damn tasting water out there.

IA, can you give us a few other brands that use reverse osmosis as well?

Nice info, thanks!

No, they are not expensive:

You will spend WAY more on Aquafina in 6 months than on one of these.

The evil god of DNP requires that I "sacrifice" at least two gallons of water a day.

That is very true. There can be no substitute for water.

Actually the best water source is the water contained in fruit and veggies. If your meals are always 70 percent high water content food then you will have no need for drinking this 1-2 gallons a day, i am never thirsty and rarely drink more than 1 glass of water a day. The water contained in fruit and veggies has already been distilled by nature through photosynthesis, plus fruit and veggies contain all the enzymes we need for life, foods that have no enzymes are 'dead' foods.

If i was to drink water i would drink only distilled water. The water from the springs and tap are actually not perfectly made for human consumption because of the mineral content, and leave residues in the body that is must deal with later, this adds to the body's toxicity.

But i agree we do need water, it is essential for sure, we just need the right kind.

To the original poster......nice post. Very informative.

I agree with it except for aspartame....I truly believe it is harmless and goes right through you pretty much.

Mallet.....yes lots of water is in fruit and veggies but I still don't see how you justify drinking only one glass of water per day......even if eating lots of fruits and veggies. You may not be thirsty but thirst is an indicator of dehydration. You may not feel thirsty but may well be on your way to being dehydrated.

Could you give me some examples of food that contain no enzymes.....aka "dead" foods. This caught my eye also.

I think the trace mineral amounts in spring and tap water are so small that it will have minimal effect on the human body. Just my opinion of course.

I am one of the few people who is truly not lactose intolerant at all.....and therefore do consume milk. I believe most people are lactose intolerant and do not realize it. My body loves dairy and reacts well to it.......no bloating or any other effects. I actually feel great when I drink alot of milk. But I do believe most people should stay away from too much of it.

I drink about a gallon of milk every 2 days..for water, I just drink it straight from the tap but it tastes like ass, they put flouride in the water, city water..Im not going to pay for water, id be broke with the amount of it I drink. Maybe ill go buy one of those water filters for the tap..

milk and natty pb = drink/each too much of it, but its there and easy.

That doesn't mean that it doesn't go through reverse osmosis... unlike other brands that I don't like that come from 'springs' and 'MTs'. I just need the purifier and I wouldn't ever need to buy TheFina.
