Default De La Hoya vs Mayweather...

Does anyone think Oscar has a chance?
Hes a great fighter and has the ability to adapt his style to whoever he fights, but do you think Mayweather is just too much for him? His speed being, Oscars main concern.

I def think Oscar is gonna have to knock him out to win, if he knocks him out it will be late. Mayweather is more than likely gonna win on points.

i am watching the special as we speak and was thinking of making a thread. mayweather has a big mouth but can back it up. both look like they are working very hard but mayweather seems to have not secluded himself from the bullshit. he has his father and uncle in his camp which could pose some problems. his uncle is a typical asshole. i like de la hoya bc he is a lot more humble than mayweather but mayweather is pound for pound one of the greatest. de la hoya is sparring with mosley which should be awesome for him and he has roache in his corner which also is very good for him. as de la hoya said this is one of the best camps he has been in. mayweather is just naturally a very very good fighter

yea i would think for him to have more power. when de la hoya was hitting the focus pads and he was loading up a right, left hook, right he had some pop to him. but with speed and proper mechanics usually comes power.

I am going with De La Hoya, but i wouldnt bet on it. De La Hoya has changed his style multiple times to defeat his opponents, De La Hoya has had numerous top fights, who has mayweather fought really? Mayweather has the fastest hands in the game, no doubt, but he has never matched up against someone the caliber of de la hoya.

I seriously think the only person that would beat De La Hoya is a smarter more astute fighter, aka bernard hopkins, only person to eve beat him with skills is Mosley and thats because he doesnt match up well to his fighting style and dont try to bring that Trinidad fight because we all know Trinidad had that handed to him and the only reason he won was De La Hoya's own stupidity.

reguardless of how many fights you have been in... a fight of this magnitude, EVERYONE is nervous. Some fighters show it diffrently than others, but this is not un charactertistic of Mayweather at all.

Everybody gets nervous. The guys with experience know how to handle being nervous and what to do with that energy.

well liddell has said that he honestly has never been nervous before a fight hence the nickname the iceman. i dont know how much of that is a stretch but i definately get nervous as for football and once i got a better sense of my abilities I didnt get nervous so i can relate to the experience factor

Chuck is the exception to the rule.

You have pro mma fighters will 20 fights under their belts and they still puke before each fight. That gal that fought on Bodog the other night is one of them. lol

Well chuck fought a 100 freakin bar fights in whatever po-dunk town hes from, before he got to MMA. The guy looks like he genuinely enjoys handing out asswhoopins.

Hell I think Zab was handing Floyd his ass before Mayweather's uncle jumped in the ring. That guy is a complete MORON. Oscar always finds a way to win, except for when he fights Mosley
Put me down for Oscar.

My childhood best freind's uncle owned Floyd's uncle as a fighter.

Anybody follow that mess I just typed?

Billy Baxter was his "owner." Billy was a three time world champion poker player who was also featured in Sports Illustrated. He is a fucking tool....but I always find my self pulling for Mayweather. I remember watching Floyd a couple of years ago and I was amazed by his skill. It was truly a clinic he was putting on, against a very solid opponent, but I don't remember who it was now. All I remember was the hand speed of Floyd and his amazing ability to make contact and slip punches. He moves like a boxer is supposed to move.

I think Oscar might get a few lucky punches in, but that is about it. But who knows anything can happen in boxing. It only takes one hit to win.

I hate Mayweather....BUT....He is probably going to kick De La Hoya's ace. Just too good.

I would have taken a cheap shot at his (Mayweather) ass in the press conferences. What a prick.
